LASSET UNS MIT JESU ZIEHEN (BOLTZE)

LASSET UNS MIT JESU ZIEHEN (BOLTZE) is a hymn tune in 8.7.8.7.8.7.7.8.7.7, composed by G. G. Boltze (1721–1794) (1788). In a hymnal the tune has a name of its own, printed in capitals, because the same music carries many texts: any hymn written in its meter can be sung to it.

The four-part harmony played here comes from the Open Hymnal Project's public-domain edition (copied from "The American Lutheran Hymnal", 1930 Hymn 220 Lyrics source: from The Handbook to the Lutheran Hymnal, 1942 https://www.projectwittenberg.org/etext/hymnals/tlh/ever_walk.txt Note that the text of this hymn from the Handbook to the Lutheran Hymnal is available on Project Wittenberg, operated by the Walther Library of Concordia Theological Seminary Fort Wayne and the text is listed as public domain.).
