Hymn tune
ITALIAN HYMN
ITALIAN HYMN is a hymn tune in 6.6.4.6.6.6.4, composed by Felice Giardini (1716–1796) (1769). In a hymnal the tune has a name of its own, printed in capitals, because the same music carries many texts: any hymn written in its meter can be sung to it.
In this library it is the tune for 2 hymns, listed below, and 9 more texts in the same meter can be sung to it.
The four-part harmony played here comes from the Open Hymnal Project's public-domain edition (copied from 'The Methodist Sunday School Hymnal', 1911 Hymn 1.).
